OwnerRoute Privacy Policy

Your privacy, in plain language.

Last updated July 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information OwnerRoute collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to www.ownerroute.com and the related services we provide (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

OwnerRoute is operated by OwnerRoute, an Oettinger Management Group portfolio company, based at 246 Spring St, Suite B, Jeffersonville, IN 47130 (“OwnerRoute,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Services are intended for users in the United States. This Policy is not legal advice.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide

  • Account information — your email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
  • Seller draft and listing information — property address, property facts, asking price, descriptions, photos, and the settings you choose before and after publication.
  • Inquiry and lead information — when you message a seller, request a cash offer, or apply to partner with us, we collect your name, email, phone number, the property or market involved, and the contents of your message. Agent applicants may also provide brokerage name, license details, and coverage area.
  • Communications — messages, support requests, and feedback you send us.

Information we collect automatically

  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages and listings viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP, and dates and times of access.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — small identifiers and local storage used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Services, and measure how the Services are used. See Cookies and tracking below.
  • Security data — session tokens, limited request metadata, and one-way hashes used to detect and prevent abuse.

Information from other sources

  • Mapping and property context — we use third-party mapping and geocoding services (such as Google Maps) to show a property’s location and nearby places.
  • Service providers and partners — hosting, analytics, and, when you choose to engage them, licensed broker, title, or closing partners.

How we use your information

  • Create and secure your account and verify your email address.
  • Save and display your private seller drafts to you.
  • Process and optimize property photos, including removing embedded metadata.
  • Publish listings and enable search — only after you explicitly approve publication.
  • Route your inquiries, cash-offer requests, and partner applications to the right people.
  • Operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Services.
  • Prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents, and enforce our Terms.
  • Send service and transactional messages (verification, security, and inquiry-related email).
  • Send optional product news only if you have separately opted in.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, protect the Services, and remember your choices. We also use first-party and third-party analytics to understand how the Services are used and to improve them; this may include tools such as Google Analytics and privacy-focused analytics we host ourselves.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, in-product controls. Because standards differ, we honor recognized browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required by law. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Services work.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as described here:

  • With people you communicate with — if you message a seller or submit an inquiry, the relevant details are shared so they can respond.
  • With service providers — vendors that host, secure, analyze, or support the Services, under contracts that limit their use of your information.
  • With partners you choose to engage — licensed broker, title, or closing professionals you ask us to connect you with.
  • For legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, and safety of users and the public.
  • In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
  • With your direction or consent — for any other purpose you approve.

Private drafts and public listings

A draft is private while you prepare it. Raw uploaded images are stored outside the public website directory; OwnerRoute creates a processed copy and serves private photos through a protected endpoint. Nothing is published until you complete the publication controls yourself.

Once you publish, listing information becomes public and may be indexed by search engines, shown to buyers, distributed to a multiple listing service through a licensed broker partner, and retained in third-party caches outside our direct control. Please consider what you include before publishing.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with privacy laws have specific rights under those laws, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (which we do not do).

  • Access, correction, deletion, or a copy — email [email protected] or use the Help Center.
  • Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe from any product-news email or contact us; service and transactional messages will continue while your account is active.
  • Authorized agents — you may use an authorized agent to submit a request; we may need to verify your identity and the agent’s authority.

We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframe required by applicable law. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

Data retention

Anonymous drafts expire after the stated draft period. Drafts and account information tied to a verified account remain available while your account is active or until you remove them, after which we retain limited information only as needed for security, fraud prevention, backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, and then delete or de-identify it.

How we protect information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and storage of raw photos outside the public web directory. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Information you should not upload

Do not upload government identifiers (such as Social Security numbers), financial account or payment details, banking or wire information, passwords, security or entry codes, or other highly sensitive documents as property photos or in messages. OwnerRoute does not request this information and you should never share it through the Services.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party websites and tools we do not control, including mapping providers and, when you engage them, broker or title partners. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
